Nielsen signs local TV ratings agreement

Nielsen recently announced that it has signed an agreement with KCYU and KFFX, affiliates of the FOX network.

The stations are owned by Northwest Broadcasting, which serves Yakima, Wash., as well as the Tri-Cities area (comprised of Richland, Kennewick and Pasco, Wash.).

In addition, the Telemundo affiliate has been added to receive Nielsen Local Ratings services. The Yakima/Tri-Cities stations join other Northwest Broadcasting stations already subscribing to Nielsen, including KVIQ/Eureka, KPVI/Idaho Falls, KAYU/Spokane and WSYT/WNYS Syracuse.

The agreement will utilize Nielsen’s local measurement services, as well as the Yakima-Tri-Cities special area reports.

“We are pleased to be working with Nielsen once again in Yakima-Tri-Cities,” said David Lockhert, General Manager for Northwest Broadcasting.

“We’re delighted that Northwest Broadcasting in Yakima-Tri-Cities has chosen Nielsen to provide its Local audience measurement ratings support,” said Jeff Wender, Managing Director for Nielsen Local Media.

“This agreement demonstrates Northwest’s view that Nielsen is the go-to provider for delivering accurate data and superior services that are essential to the continued success of its local stations.”
