Arvind Kejriwal skips Deepak Chaurasia’s television debate

New Delhi: The tiff between India News channel and Arvind Kejriwal took a new twist on Thursday when the latter skipped the talk show where he was specially invited to take part in an open debate.

“In a programme aired on Tuesday and Wednesday Kumar Vishwas and Sanjay Singh had said that Arvind Kejriwal will clear his position about the allegations levelled against  him by the members of team Anna at any stage. We had sent an email invitation to him . Unfortunately he did not turn up,” Deepak Chaurasia said while anchoring the show.

Deepak Chaurasia said that he received 150 phone calls from the supporters of Arvind Kejriwal during the show . He alleged that he is being threatened by Kejriwal’s supporters .

” Is questioning someone a crime . Arvind Kejriwal talks about transparency and now avoiding the debate,” Asked Deepak Chaurasia.

Interestingly enough when the rival news channels were busy showing Hyderabad blast stories, Deepak Chaurasia was eagerly waiting for Arvind Kejriwal at Jantar Mantar alongwith his opponents who openly criticised Kejriwal.

Swami Agnivesh who was pitched in from a different location said Arvind Kejriwal lacked self confidence and courage to speak.

“Arvind Kejriwal wanted  Anna Hazare to end his life during the protest. ,” Swami Agnivesh said during the show.

The tiff between the duo started when Deepak Chaurasia had aired a news show on India News channel in which the allegations levelled against Arvind Kejriwal were hotly debated.

Deepak Chaurasia became an eye of the storm and was criticised by Kejriwal supporters on social media after this show . Kejriwal’s supporters openly spit venum on him and even criticised the promoters of the news channel.

Deepak Chaurasia is part of a big network which is after Kejriwal when he tried to expose country’s leading business houses. The channel is owned by a former Congress minister and is being used for political gains,” Sanjay Singh , Spokesperson  Aam Aadmi Party was quoted saying .
