Mumbai : Zee Institute of Media Arts (ZIMA), one of the leading media art institute’s in India, conducted its flagship Master Mantra workshop with N. Chandra, an Indian producer, writer and director. N. Chandra interacted with the passionate students of ZIMA and enlightened them to the authenticity of the way entertainment industry works. He introduced students to inspirational journey of the industry, helping them design their role & expertise in future.
N. Chandra, known for his films such as Ankush, Pratighaat, Tezaab and Narasimha made as a film editor in the beginning of his career. He also made the successful youth oriented films like Style and its sequel Xcuse Me. With Ankush, his directorial debut, in 1986, Chandra began his projection of the angry young man. He wrote, directed, produced and edited the film, which starred Nana Patekar. Next year he followed it up with Pratighaat (1987), a film on the gruesome reality of politics in India as related to world politics; especially the Palestine/Israel Conflict and its effect on Afghanistan, Pakistan and Kashmir. It also brought the strong mental make up of the Indian woman to the thoughts of the Indian youth.
During his visit to ZIMA, N.Chandra spent a lot of time educating students. He said, “ZIMA’s effort for starting Master Mantra is definitely worth praising. The way they are progressing and have started a library for the ambitious student is good. The system they have started for inviting the experienced technicians and staff from our film industry is again nice because the students would get opportunity to know about the realty of the existing film industry”
