Singapore: Y&R has named Marten van Pelt as President of Y&R Korea with responsibility for developing and expanding the agency in this key growth market. Van Pelt, who has been with Y&R in a number of different roles since 2000 is also named Global Lead for LG Electronics whose business is headquartered in South Korea.
Based in Seoul for the last three years, van Pelt has been responsible for leading all the key global client relationships within LG Electronics HQ and in Asia. He already manages the Y&R Seoul team and their responsibilities on a number of clients including Japan Tourism and Boehringer-Ingelheim. As well as continuing to serve these global clients already doing business in Korea, the agency will also provide strong global capabilities for Korean companies looking to develop their business around the world. This is all part of Y&R’s commitment to one of the most important markets in the region.

Y&R won the LG business in 2007 and since 2008, they have been their lead agency, supporting LG Electronics in more than 55 markets around the world, as well as their Global Marketing Office, Mobile Communications, Home Appliances, Home Entertainment and Air Conditioning.
