Yahoo! India R&D has announced that it is hosting ‘HackLite’ event at the Great Indian Developer Summit (GIDS) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, from April 22 to April 25.
Walking along the path of Open Hack Day, HackLite provides an opportunity for developers to build applications and widgets using Yahoo!’s Open APIs (like Blueprint, BOSS, YQL, Maps, Flickr) and offers a chance to win cool prizes. But unlike Open Hack Days (where all the hacking happens during the event), HackLite allows developers to do all the heavy lifting behind the scenes, and demonstrate their hacks at the event.
HackLite gives developers bubbling with ideas the much needed platform. Yahoo! India R&D expects a plethora of talent to flock in and build great applications and widgets using Yahoo! Open APIs. Developers can get the hack axe rolling by registering at http://developer.yahoo.com/hacku/register before Judgment Day April 25.
Apart from hacking, technical talks on Yahoo!’s Open Platforms will be conducted on all four days at the Yahoo! Developer Network lounge at GIDS, with a special focus on BOSS (Build Your Own Search Service) and Blueprint (Yahoo!’s mobile application development platform).
Yahoo! also has two speakers for the main event, Great Indian Developer Summit. Priyank Garg, Director, Product Management, Yahoo! India will talk on BOSS (Build Your Own Search Service) and SearchMonkey while Chidambaran Kollengode, Director, Cloud Computing, Yahoo! India R&D will share insights on Cloud Computing and Hadoop .
