WEB18, the online business arm of the Network 18 group, has announced the appointment of Simran Sablok as General Manager, Marketing. In her new role, she will be responsible for the planning and execution of all the marketing activities involving the Web18’s bouquet of portals.
Web18, India’s leading consumer internet company operates leading properties such as moneycontrol.com, IBNLive etc. It recently launched In.com, a horizontal portal which has rapidly grown to become India’s second largest portal. Web18 also leads in the mobile internet space with applications and wap portals that are amongst the most popular.
Simran’s mandate is to create a strong, consumer insight driven cohesive marketing strategy that will convert our properties into great consumer brands. She will build brand equity and salience, while synergizing and aligning all Web18 portals under a single marketing & communication platform
Prior to Web18, Simran headed the Marketing for Levi Strauss Signature (LSS). Her contribution includes the most successful TV brand campaign to date & launch of the inner wear range of LSS.

Simran’s prior experience includes some of the best names in the business. She started her career as a management trainee for Lintas, moving on to Yum Restaurants where she worked for 8 years. At Yum restaurants, Simran was instrumental in establishing Pizza Hut as a brand of choice for youth shortly after it arrived in India. She also worked extensively for re-launching the KFC brand in India. Later, she joined Coffee Café Day as Head of Marketing and was responsible for revenues via alliances, in addition to driving traffic to the 550 stores the company owned.
Simran holds an MBA degree from EMPI Business School – Delhi and has also pursued an MBA foundation course in California.
