M&C Saatchi has announced that from 1 January 2009 Tom Dery will be Chairman of M&C Saatchi Worldwide and Moray MacLennan will be CEO.
Mr Dery said he was looking forward to working with UK Based CEO Moray MacLennan and other M&C Saatchi leaders. Mr Dery’s particular focus will be on the development of regional and global accounts.
Tom Dery, together with Tom McFarlane, founded the M&C Saatchi agencies in Australia, Asia and California. The Australian agency is now ranked the 5th largest, with clients including, ANZ, Qantas, Woolworths, Westfield and Optus. It has won more creative awards than any other Australian agency, and has been nominated as Agency of the Year 5 times.
Moray MacLennan was one of the founders of M&C Saatchi in the UK. Prior to that, he was the youngest ever UK Chief Executive of Saatchi & Saatchi, when it was the UK No. 1 agency. The M&C Saatchi UK agency has grown from a standing start to become the country’s 3rd largest, with clients including Scottish Courage, Royal Bank of Scotland Group, Transport for London, Glaxo Smith Kline, DSG International, Central Office of Information, Boots and Orange. It was described as “the fastest growing start-up in the history of advertising”.
In Australia, Mike Abel has been appointed CEO.
In the UK, Tim Duffy will succeed Moray MacLennan as Chairman of M&C Saatchi UK operations.In June of this year, Chris Jaques was appointed Chief Executive Asia.
