Thomson Reuters Wins CPA Technology Honours

The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters, formerly Thomson Tax & Accounting, announced today that two of its products—Engagement CS and PPC’s SMART e-Practice Aids – Risk Assessment—were honored with a Technology Innovation Award from The CPA Technology Advisor. As the only company to receive two of the five awards which are given annually, this dual win is a significant achievement for the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters.

Of particular interest is the integration between these two products. As an all-inclusive paperless engagement management solution, Engagement CS offers direct integration with PPC’s SMART e-Practice Aids, enabling tax and accounting professionals to dynamically generate custom audit programs based on their assessment of audit risk.

“We are proud that Engagement CS was recognized with a Technology Innovation Award,” said Teresa Mackintosh, CPA.CITP and senior vice president at the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. “We are dedicated to developing, enhancing and integrating our products and services with the goal of increasing the efficiency and productivity of accounting professionals—and this award is evidence of that commitment.”

With so many well-known and trusted brands within the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters, making sure these products work together is key—especially in today’s accounting world where it is vital to keep pace with professional standards.

“It is an honor that PPC’s SMART e-Practice Aids – Risk Assessment was recognized with a Technology Innovation Award as this product has transformed the way in which auditors across the U.S. have implemented the AICPA Risk Assessment Standards,” said Jim Reeves, senior vice president of New Product Development at the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. “The integration between PPC’s SMART e-Practice Aids and Engagement CS is a wonderful example of how our products and services work together to provide a full range of solutions for tax and accounting professionals.”
