New Delhi : In its ongoing efforts to forge a clear lead and break the clutter in the radio FM business in Delhi, 92.7 BIG FM, a radio initiative of Reliance Broadcast Network Limited (RBNL) has appointed the renowned and extremely talented Sudha Sadhanand as the Radio Operations Head in Delhi. In this capacity Sudha will oversee all aspects related to programming, technical and promotions for the station. She will report to Soumen G Choudhury, Business Head, 92.7 BIG FM.
In her new role, Sudha will be responsible for increasing the market share of 92.7 BIG FM’s Delhi station, its on-air programming and the entertainment being served to audiences each day. Her key responsibilities include consumer understanding based market research, surveys, promotions and radio operations for BIG FM Delhi station.
With around 15 years of experience in the media and communication space, Sudha is a well-known face and name, both in the industry as well as amongst the public. Sudha literally lives on music – her understanding of the various genres and thorough knowledge of the Indian music space is unparalleled.
This is Sudha’s second innings at 92.7 BIG FM. During her previous stint, she was the Programming Head for Delhi and introduced blockbuster programmes like 100 Chartbusters to the existing repertoire. Her innovative programming and key insights on the listenership patterns and preferences ensured that the station registered a stupendous growth.
In her last assignment, she was VP Programming with Fox International Channels and took care of National Geographic Channel and helped launch Fox History and Entertainment in India and initiated localized content for the brand. Prior to NGC, Sudha was a prime time anchor & producer at Times Now and was the regular face on Prime Time news along with Arnab Goswami and Mini Menon. She was also the producer of Upfront, a primetime show on the channel. Fluent in both English and Hindi, Sudha was an instant hit on the station, and is still remembered by the viewers for her charismatic ‘on-screen’ presence. Sudha has worked at key positions with other popular news channels like India TV (Rajat Sharma) and TVi and thus has expertise in conceptualising, aggregating and managing content for electronic, print, Internet and multimedia platforms in both news as well as programming.
Sudha also has a remarkable publishing experience to her credit, having worked with extremely renowned authors like Khushwant Singh, Vikram Seth and MJ Akbar as non-fiction Editor at Penguin. All along her career, Sudha has kept herself abreast with the fast-changing consumer preferences, doling out a content mix that is close to the heart of the audiences.
