The Organisers of the 55th Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival have announced the members of this year’s Film jury. Sonal Dabral, Chairman, India & Regional Executive Creative Director, Bates David Enterprise will represent India.
Chaired by Craig Davis, JWT’s Worldwide Chief Creative Officer, the judging of the Film entries will take place in Cannes during the Festival week with the winners being announced and honoured on Saturday evening, 21 June.
“We are delighted to bring together a very talented group of international award-winning creatives to judge and honour the best advertising Film work from around the globe,” said Terry Savage, Chairman of the Festival.
This year, the Film section will also be expanded to include categories for films created for transmission on screens other than TV and cinema, such as Internet film, Mobile film, Other screens (for instance, digital outdoor solutions and branded content on TV) and Integrated film (films made to be adapted for different screens).
The 55th International Advertising Festival will be held 15-21 June 2008 in Cannes, France.The International Advertising Festival – Cannes Lions – is the largest gathering of worldwide advertising professionals and advertisers as well as the most prestigious annual advertising awards. Each year, over 10,000 visitors from the advertising and allied industries attend this event to celebrate the best of creativity across all media mix, discuss industry issues and network with one another. Over 25,000 ads from all over the world are showcased and judged at the Festival. Winning companies receive the highly coveted Lion trophy, honouring the most creative TV/cinema, print, outdoor, interactive, radio, sales promotion, integrated advertising, as well as the best media and direct marketing solutions. A Design category is being launched in 2008. A unique programme of high-profile seminars, workshops and keynote speakers, organised by some of the biggest names in the industry, are also presented.
