Slumdog Millionaire Stars join MiD DAY’s Bollywood Lunch Contest

The cast of the soon-to-be-released, Golden Globe winning film, Slumdog Millionaire, joined the winner of MiD DAY’s Bollywood Lunch Contest for lunch at the Onida office in Mumbai today. Riding high on critical acclaim, Anil Kapoor, who plays the quizmaster in the film interacted with friends of the winner, had pizza and spent a fun afternoon taking photos, signing autographs and sharing his views on the film’s awards and content.

This particular contest was launched on 6th Jan 2009, and readers were required to simply send an SMS answering a Bollywood Question (Who played the role of Quiz Master in Slumdog Millionaire?) to 53650. The contest was promoted via ads in the MiD DAY and received an overwhelming response of 3000 smses. It was also heavily promoted through e-mailers in trade magazines that reach corporate and media houses. A winner is declared through random selection, and in keeping with the afternooner’s position of Making Work Fun, the winner gets a lunch date with a Bollywood star at their office. Thanks to the winner, the entire office also lunches with the stars.

Suresh Amarnani, added that his colleagues at Onida were also very excited about Anil Kapoor’s visit to the office. He said “Our entire team at office is really looking forward to the event.
