Singham premiere may boost Star Gold ratings

New Delhi: Star Gold will give its viewers a new gold bonanza this weekend with the screening of 2011’s biggest blockbuster – ‘Singham’, while the movie is still running to packed houses.

The September 10, 9 p.m. telecast of ‘Singham’, which has already grossed Rs 100 crore, is a harbinger of other great titles — Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, RA-ONE, Housefull 2 — that are all set to follow on the network.

Hemal Jhaveri, Senior Vice President, Star Gold said, “Star Gold has brought the best films to Indian homes. With the screening of Singham and a line-up of other current blockbuster releases to follow, Star Gold will now provide the latest screen hits of Indian cinema, right in the comfort of Indian living rooms.”

Directed by noted filmmaker Rohit Shetty, the Ajay Devgan-starrer is 2011’s biggest blockbuster grossing Rs. 100 crore at the box office.

The story revolves around a brave and fearless police officer- Bajirao Singham, and his trysts with fighting corruption and violence in a small town near Goa.
