Within only ten months of its launch in June 2008, Shine.com, India’s newest and most innovative career portal, has now crossed the 2 million candidate mark.
Shine.com is a product from Firefly eVentures – a 100% subsidiary of HT Media Ltd., focused on building brands and businesses in the internet space.
With regard to crossing the 2 million mark, Amit Garg, Business Head – Internet, HT Media, said, “Adding 20 lakh candidates before the close of the year was an important milestone for us. Unlike other job portals, we have a huge focus on our candidates, and are constantly looking to add value to them – and not just through the right jobs, but also relevant career information and tools. One of our challenges while scaling up was to maintain the high quality of our candidate database, and we’re happy that even today, over 82% of all candidates on Shine have more than 2 years of experience, and over 10% of our entire base is comprised of candidates from Grade A schools.”
In recent months, Shine.com has been pioneering many different initiatives for both candidates and recruiters – these include the launch of high quality, personalized Shine Resume Services, advanced learning opportunities through Shine Campus, a new Video Interview tool for recruiters called Shine InterVIEW, and the relaunch of Shine Weekly – the Tuesday job supplement of Hindustan Times.
Apart from these, Shine has also pioneered the unique Shine Placement Fair across key cities, allowing employers to shortlist and hire the right candidates from specific institutes, without spending any money – and hardly any time -on recruitment, while benefiting thousands of candidates by placing them in contact with top companies.
