Sheena Jeng Joins DDB Taiwan as President and CCO

Taiwan: DDB Greater China Group has announced the appointment of Sheena Jeng as Co-President and Chief Creative Officer of DDB Taiwan Group, effective March 8. She will be working in conjunction with Roy Soetanto, Co-President and Managing Director of DDB Taiwan Group. Jeng and Soetanto will report directly as joint-partners to Dick van Motman, President and CEO of DDB Greater China Group. In addition, Jeng will also add the designation VP Greater China.

Jeng will be responsible for developing DDB Taiwan’s business strategy to drive growth, with the goal of making DDB one of the leading agencies in Taiwan.

“Sheena and Roy have worked together before and there is no doubt this duo will broaden our management strength and make DDB a leading agency in Taiwan,” said van Motman.

“Sheena brings a lot of valuable experience to our Greater China operations and I’m eager to leverage her skills across the sub region. Additionally, Sheena is one of the rare people from the creative side to head an international agency, and will be integral in incorporating DDB’s philosophy of ‘social creativity’ in every piece of work we do.”

With over 20 years of experience in advertising in Asia, Sheena is a veteran in the industry. In her prior role Jeng was CEO of Publicis China, but stepped down in February 2011 to return to her native Taiwan. She started her career as a copywriter with a local Taiwanese agency in 1988, and joined O&M Taiwan in 1989 where she worked her way up to Creative Director.

Jeng also worked as Managing Director of D’Arcy Taiwan (where she and Roy also formed a management duo) and led it to win ADM Agency of the Year in 2000. When D’Arcy and Publicis merged in 2002, she helped rebrand and revitalize the agency, achieving ADM Agency of the Year for Publicis Taiwan in 2006. She comes from a solid creative pedigree and has won numerous domestic and international industry awards during her career, including honors at the China 4A Awards, China Times, New York Festival, Mobius Awards, Long-Xi Awards, and the Times Pacific Advertising Awards.

“DDB Taiwan Group has made huge leaps in progress in recent years, evolving from a single above-the-line agency to a cohesive business solution encompassing DDB, Tribal DDB, and RAPP. This year is the time for us to up our ante and shift into a higher gear,” said Soetanto. “Sheena’s impressive experience and impeccable reputation will help us push our brand to a higher level.”
