Vinita Bangard has stepped down from her post as the COO, PTM. She has cited compelling family obligations and the extended time-off that will be required by her to tackle these personal issues as her reason for taking a break from PTM. Said Ms Vinita Bangard, “I have spent over 15 years with the Percept Group, and it has been an exciting and fruitful journey which I will cherish immensely. I needed to take an extended break due to certain personal compulsions, and will utilize this interim period to figure out the next phase of my journey.” Ms. Bangard will be with the company till 30 April, 2010.

Manish Porwal will no longer be continuing in his role as CEO, PTM. Manish’s contractual term with PTM was for 2 years lasting up to 2 January, 2010. Talks are currently in progress between the Board of Directors and Manish Porwal towards his working in an advisory capacity in the Intellectual Property (IP) space.

The Celebrity Management business made headway in India barely over a decade ago. The Celebrity Management Services (CMS) business was launched as an SBU of Percept D’Mark (PDM) 13 years ago, and over the years PDM-CMS handled a wide repertoire of Talent in the fields of motion pictures, television, fashion, music, sports and branded entertainment. These included the legendary World Cup ’83 Cricket Team, the Australian Team, 11 of the 12 cricketers in the Indian Cricket team, and leading Bollywood stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Karan Johar, Rani Mukerji, Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Preity Zinta, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor, to name a few. Percept Talent Management was launched in 2007 and signified a paradigm shift in the business of Talent Management in the Indian sub-continent. The birth of PTM marked a confluence between creating, inculcating and promoting ‘Talent’ in every sense of the word. PTM offered a 360-degree model covering all aspects of exposure possible for a Talent.

Said Shailendra Singh, “Over the years, I have witnessed and experienced the evolution and the importance of creating strong synergies between Talents and Brands to enhance brand communication, equity and recall. A few months ago, I once again started actively getting involved in the Talent Management space, and my mandate of 2010 involves devoting 30% of my time to the Talent Management arena. It’s a business I created 13 years ago, and its time I get back to the roots of this dynamic business to take it to the next level.”

Elaborated Mr. Singh, “We have just launched 3 Business Verticals in PTM. The first Business Vertical will concentrate on creating Intellectual Properties (IP’s) for Talents. Today’s Celebrities and Talents want to own IP’s by which they can extend their brand value and present a wider offering to their fans. The second vertical is Client Servicing which involves creating a customized Talent Pool based on the client base. In other words, we become the AOR for clients and offer them exclusive and customized Talent based on their specific requirements and identified brand synergies. The third vertical is the traditional model of Acquisitioning Talents across all genres, and providing them with all aspects of exposure possible for a Talent as well as managing their administrative paperwork, professional contracts, presence in the digital domain, merchandising, publishing, media tie-ups, below-the-line events, public relations and grooming, relationship management and endorsements.”
