SatLink Communications, a leading teleport based in the Holy Land, has announced that the Custody of the Holy Land, the official guardian of the Holy Places on behalf of the Catholic Church, has chosen SatLink as its global transmission provider for all their radio and television services. As the first stage in this process, the Custody’s Jerusalem film studios have been connected directly via fiber optics to SatLink’s teleport for comprehensive transmission solutions.
The fiber connectivity between “Terra Santa College” and SatLink will allow the studios at “Terra Santa College” live connectivity to the most sacred places in the Holy Land. These services will begin with the live transmission of the Christmas Services this Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Catholic channels from around the world coming to film in the Holy Land have now access to state-of-the-art studio facilities, and can now distribute their content right out of Jerusalem – the fiber connectivity between SatLink’s teleport and the Custody of the Holy Land’s state-of-the-art studios will give all Catholic producers direct access to SatLink’s dish-farm of up to 70 antennae pointing to satellites covering the whole world.
“We are very proud that the Custody, as the official guardian of the Holy Places of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land, has turned to SatLink for all their transmission needs. Satlink Communications created some time ago a special department to cater for all the religious content producers and TV channels needs. We are excited to take a step forward to provide them with our services,” commented David Hochner, CEO of Satlink Communications.
“To carry out ever more effectively our mission of witnessing the Gospel from Jerusalem, we have been working for some time at developing a Center in the Holy Land to cater for all the production needs of Catholic television channels, so as to assist them in producing more and better religious programmes from the Holy Land. We have satisfied ourselves that SatLinks’ reputation as having a track record of professionalism in quality broadcasting services makes it the right company to help us in this enterprise at this time,” Fr. Dobromir Jasztal, the General Treasurer of Custody of the Holy Land, said.
