Organized at the Buddh International Circuit at Greater Noida, the Fastest Running And Living Half Marathon witnessed an overwhelming response from over 1400 runners from across 15 states of the country with registrations for the 5km, 10km and 21km (half-marathon) runs.
Excitement levels amongst the runners could be seen as early as 6:00am in the morning. Reebok India fitness experts conducted high-intensity warm-up sessions for all registered runners prior to the race.
Sharing his excitement at the event,Somdeb Basu, Brand Director at Reebok India said, “Being a fitness enthusiast myself, I absolutely loved the excitement amongst all runners at the marathon. This association with Running and Living Infotainment for the first-ever half marathon on the F1 track aims to inspire more and more people to take up fitness as a bigger part of their lives and adopt the philosophy of being ‘Fit for Life’. It is truly a unique platform for fitness enthusiasts across the country, and we look forward to more such associations in the future.”
Running and Living is a venture started by Rahul Verghese, having around 75 running groups across the country, and organizing over 30 runs across 10 States in a year.
Runners were also spotted wearing the latest Reebok ZQUICK shoes that are inspired by the design of high-performance ZRated tyres used in exotic high-end sports cars. Similar to ZRated tyres, the Reebok ZQUICK shoes are engineered to provide ultimate ground contact allowing users to deliver high-speed performance by rapidly moving in and out of turns. The renowned F1 track served as the perfect platform for fitness enthusiasts to try out this exciting new entrant to the running shoes category.
The 1st three finishers of the half-marathon 21 km were from the Navy who all came in a few seconds apart in 1 hr 11 mins; AniI Pawar, Dinesh Kumar and Ashish Kumar. Tara, Yukiko and Rashmi came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd among the women finishers in 1:54, 1:58 and 1:59 respectively.
In the 10.28 km run, Naresh Yadav came 1st in 34 mins, Ajay Kumar 2nd in 34:30 and Sudhir Pundir in 39:25. Kateni came 1st among the women and Taru came in 2nd.
In the 5 km run Kushagra, Yash and Deepak were the 1st three finishers and Rhitu, Siska and Priyanka were the 1st three women finishers. Amongst the kids, Agrim, Aditya and Triyaksh were the first three finishers.
Participants were awarded with medals and certificates upon completion of the race and the first three finishers were also awarded with a plaque.
