Siliguri : Radio Misty 94.3 fm has joined hands with Bangla Gaan Utsav committee to organize path-breaking festival of Bengali songs in December in a bid to provide a platform for upcoming singers. The four-day festival will start from 17 th December. This is fifth year of this festival and it drows huge crowd from all over North Bengal. This year the theme of the festival is on legendary Musician Rahul Dev Burman. Eminent singer’s sraboni sen, chandrabali Rudra and Pratik Choudhary will perform in this festival.
Well-known singers from Bengal will also be performing on each day of the festival in an effort to rekindle a liking for all types of Bengali songs, from Folk Music, Rabindrasangeet to Adhunik (modern) songs. This utsav will be inaugurated on December 17 at Sister Nivedita Auditorium in siliguri. There will be competition for aspiring singers across the six north Bengal districts. Judges from Calcutta would be arriving to conduct the auditions. Selected singers will get opportunity to perform in this festival. Exponents of Rabindrasangeet, Nazrulgeeti, Dwijendrageeti, Atul Prasad, Rajanikanta, Sukantageeti, Lokgeeti, Puratani and Adhunik songs will perform in this utsav.
Radio Misty 94.3 fm Chief Executive Officer Nishant Mittal said that Bangla Gaan Utsav is biggest event held in North Bengal.It Draws huge crowd from all over region. Its proud moment to be associated with this great event. We will erect a live studio at venue from where shows will be hosted by celebrity radio jocks. He added that bangla gaan utsav goes with our tagline Gungunate Raho and we will try that people dance to the tunes of this wonderful event.
