New Delhi : Saturday nights are meant to party, listen to good music, dance and be merry! And on the night of Saturday, 27th March 2010, Radio Mirchi and Hero Honda will be doing just that….. But with a difference!
Today as the world switches off for the Earth Hour, Hero Honda and Radio Mirchi join hands with the rest to make world a better place.
With an intention to support WWF’s ‘Earth hour’, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM will hold an hour of singing and dancing from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm with their listeners in the studios without any electrical equipment. They will even be putting off their CD players for that entire hour.
The city however will not be deprived of the music that they love, listeners will be auditioned throughout the day and the final lot will come into the Mirchi studios along with the RJ’s and other Mirchi staff to sing live along with non electrical musical instruments like the dhol, cymbals, bongos etc!
Announcing the initiative Yatish Mehrishi, Cluster Head and Station Director, Radio Mirchi 98.3FM said, “This is our endeavour to give every listener a chance to come out of the bathroom and sing!! You never know, that hidden talent might just get heard on National radio and what’s more every listener who will be a part of this will be contributing to one of the world’s largest causes… that of electricity conservation.”
Talking about the Earth Hour, Vivek Syal, General Manager, Marketing, Hero Honda Motors said “Its time we take a collective pledge to ‘switch on’ our mind and take one simple step to switch off the lights and save our planet”.
