Kolkata: Radio Mirchi on its 7th birthday today, launched and audio compilation of the most popular – highest rated radio program on FM in Kolkata – Sunday Suspense. This compilation is also a tribute from Radio Mirchi to the multi-faceted genius of Satyajit Ray on the occasion of his 89th birth anniversary.
Radio Mirchi has been at the forefront on on-air innovation and had for the first in the June 2009 ,launched Sunday Suspense wherein Radio Mirchi’s popular RJs read out the classic tales of suspense, horror and the supernatural penned by the master story-teller Satyajit Ray for its listener. While there could have been Radio plays before but never has been a story being narrated verbatim, with all the narration intact but varying the voice modulation, suitable sound effects, and ambient background music.
