New Delhi: In its latest initiative, the most popular Radio Channel Amongst the Youth (2nd Global Youth Marketing Forum), has partnered with popular youth channel MTV to organize a unique band hunt in 4 cities.
The band hunt would give a chance to budding bands to showcase their talent to nearly 5 cr listeners of Mirchi and would also get them a chance to perform on stage with bands like Parikrama, Circus, Bandish, Rickterscale etc on MTV.
The band hunt shall be conducted in 4 cities across India – Delhi, Pune, Chennai and Kolkata. The bands can register for the audition by sending vote (space) rock (space) band name and send it to 58888. The registered bands will be called for audition to Mirchi studio and shortlisting will be done.
This is yet another step from Radio Mirchi in promoting and nurturing music. Earlier in the year Mirchi had organized the only awards it the country, dedicated to music – The Mirchi Music awards. It has been the preferred platform for many music launches, the latest ones being Kailash Kher’s Tere liye, Kites, Rajneeti, Teen Patti etc. Mirchi recently also launched co-branded music album the twin CD compilation, Purani Jeans Kishore Collection with Universal Music. Mirchi’s commitment to music is not limited to its own airwaves alone.
It recently launched Mirchi Mobile, an initiative along with Airtel, wherein subscribers can listen to their favorite radio channel from anywhere in the country.
