The 5th season has taken Radio City Super Singer a notch higher, surpassing the registrations received last year. The game changer this season has been the digital and social media initiatives that played a significant role in getting an overwhelming response from the listeners.

Radio City Super Singer kicked off on the 6th of September with auditions across India. A rigorous shortlisting filtered out the best of talent in each city. A week long intense training session by music industry experts honed the talent of the finalists, for the grand finale.
High-calibre performances dotted the finals, with superlative talent, on display. Radhika, Shoma, Jai, Abhishek & Rama were the 5 finalists pitted against one-another in a series of rounds. Bollywood hitmaker Sukhwinder Singh judged the competition, along with singer Palak Muchhal and director Anubhav Sinha of RaOne fame. The crowd swayed and swooned as our super singers crooned the popular songs effortlessly.
The finale saw a full house, with the audience hooting excitedly and encouraging the singers. Mumbai got a new Radio City Super Singer as vocalist Radhika Sood Nayak was crowned the best, with first runner-up Shoma Bhattacharya.
Radio City Super Singer winners, across the country, get a head start in the music industry with opportunities to work with celebrated music directors. The winner also becomes the ‘voice of the station’ on Radio City.

The highlight of the campaign was the concept of a WAP site that was introduced for the first time, enabling people to audition directly from their mobile phones. Contestants could audition on the Radio City Super Singer tab on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/radiocityindia, more than 9000 auditions were received through the digital media alone. Alternatively, contestants could take any of the tradational avenues like IVRS or on-ground auditions.
