Strengthening its leadership position in the Indian private FM space, Radio City 91.1FM, India’s Leading Radio Network, recently announced key changes in senior management to reinforce National teams with a driven, committed team of professionals at the helm. These changes include Rana Barua – National Head Marketing who now also spearheads National Programming at Radio City while Nik Martin shares his expertise as Creative Consultant, Programming. Sagorika Kantharia now leads the HR function nationally as Head -HR, Radio City.
The recent senior appointments include Carl Avari who comes on board as Head of the FM station’s activations cell Radio City Connect along with Ganesh Bhagwat – Sales Head, Radio City Connect. Subhashis Roy joins National Sales as Head, Key Markets along with Vinita Bhatia – Market Head, Delhi. Carl, Ganesh and Subhashis will report in to Ashit Kukian, Executive Vice President and National Head – Sales, Radio City 91.1FM.

Rana Barua assumes the responsibility of National Programming Head along with spearheading National Marketing for Radio City 91.1FM. As National Head for both Programming and Marketing, Rana will supervise the integration of these key functions and work towards taking the product and brand to the next level. Rana has immense expertise in developing and executing innovative, out of the box ideas and is known for his ability to achieve organizational integration and aggressively employ new methodologies. In his new capacity, he will lead all national programming initiatives besides working on the programming mix for Radio City.
Nik Martin assuming the role of Creative Consultant, Programming at Radio City 91.1FM will play a critical role in introducing pioneering initiatives for the FM station besides working on the creative mix for Radio City. The focus of his assignment is to enhance the station’s engagement with the listener through the creation of relevant and compelling content. Hailing from UK, Nik brings with him more than 23 years of radio experience including programme management positions at major UK media groups including Capital Radio and EMAP.
Taking on the mantle of Head – HR, Sagorika Kantharia, previously GM – HR will now head the HR function for Radio City nationally. With over 12 years of expertise in human resources, Sagorika is currently responsible for all HR responsibility areas like Recruitment, Training, Compensation and Reward, Performance Measurement and Organizational Development for Radio City. Her previous assignments include working across brands in the Bennett and Coleman Group.
Carl Avari joining as Associate Vice President and Head, Activation and Alternate Revenue spearheads Radio City’s activation cell Radio City Connect. With over 15 years experience in marketing and space selling, Carl is in charge of monitoring responses generated through any activity at the station and garner benefits in terms of revenues. He will also work towards ensuring ground presence, visibility and creating opportunities at every consumer touch point.
Ganesh Bhagwat joins as Sales Head – Activation and Alternate Revenue, Radio City Connect. In his new role, Ganesh will assist Carl in creating and optimizing revenue opportunities for Radio City. A veteran with over 12 years expertise in media sales across print, radio, web and television, Ganesh’s previous assignment was with Live Media where he was AVP – Media Sales for Western India.
ubhashis Roy joins the National Sales team as Associate Vice President and Head – Key Markets, Sales. These markets include Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad and Kolkata. Driving the development of new business opportunities in these markets, Subhashis will lead the teams in developing innovative, compelling and high quality solutions for advertisers. Subhashis brings with him extensive experience in media spanning over 14 years in advertising sales and strategic planning spanning print, television, radio and digital space. His previous assignments include working with leading brands like NDTV Metro Nation, Business Today and Outlook Business among others.
Vinita Bhatia Wadhawan will manage Sales for the Delhi market in her new position as Market Head – Delhi. Vinita’s role at Radio City is establishing the brand through innovative strategies while maintaining active communication channels with advertising agencies and clients in Delhi. With a work experience of over 11 years spanning across media like Sony Entertainment, Zee Telefilms and HT Media, her rich experience in both corporate and retail markets make her expertise valuable for the radio business.
