Radio City celebrates Diwali with underprivileged kids

Mumbai: Radio City 91.1FM, India’s first and leading FM brand kick started the joyous festival of lights in a unique way by lighting up the lives of underprivileged kids.

In Mumbai Radio City tied up with Akanksha Foundation for the better future of under privileged children. Under this initiative the station RJs have urged the Mumbaikars to contribute this Diwali. In today’s day and age where everyone questions the value of 100 rupees, one can actually sponsor a child’s education for a week for that much money. Furthermore adding sparkles to the joyous festival Radio City Mumbai mana raha hai “Diwali Do Diwali Lo” wherein the RJ’s would play the song and will ask listeners to sms the song name to city <space> song to 57007. In between listeners can also hear Diwali Wishes by Akanksha Kids. The winner would be given a cash prize and a part of his winning amount would be donated to the under privileged kids of NGO Akanksha.

In a similar vein, Bangalore Radio City has something special for Bengalurians where they would gift a SMILE this Diwali through Radio City door service. Radio City buses along with the RJ’s would be visiting the listener’s houses collecting empty notebooks for the underprovided kids. In a span of 5 days Radio City would cover every corner of the city.

Radio City Chennai will also spearhead a campaign asking for new clothes to be collected & distributed among under privileged. Listeners too can join Radio City to take part in the charity drive. Since Chennai looks forward to Kollywood releases during Diwali, Radio City will interview Surya and Namitha whose blockbuster movies are much awaited this Diwali. There will also be a fun contest on air asking listener to vote for the hero or heroine who they think is the cracker of Tamil Cinema and the listeners could win gift vouchers from Radio City.
