Mumbai : The melody station, Radio City 91.1FM, kick starts season 3 of Musical-E-Azam with the melodious singer, Mohit Chauhan – the voice behind the popular ‘Masakali’ of Delhi 6, ‘Khoon Chala’ from Rang De Basanti, ‘Tum Se Hi’ from Jab We Met, and the more recent ‘Ye dooriyan’ for Love Aaj Kal and ‘Pehli Baar Mohabbat Ki Hai’ for Kaminey amongst others. Mohit went on air on Kasa Kai Mumbai from 7:00 am to 11:00 am sharing his musical experiences with the listener’s right from singing songs on demand to connecting with his celebrity friends Imtiaz Ali, Director of Jab We Met, Pritam, Music Director.
The atmosphere at Radio City was electrifying with Mohit Chauhan’s music on air and with the reverberating sound of the dholwallas at the studio. Imtiaz Ali shared on air how he and Mohit used to take on their journey to the mountains as a de-stressor and also stated how Mohit’s song ‘Tumse he’ is his personal favourite. Pritam and other friends from the industry also declared that ‘Songs made for his voice are only made for his voice. No other artist can do justice to those songs’.
Mohit spoke of how he has dreamed of working with Gulzar, finally got a chance in the movie ‘Kaminey’. He shared his joyous experience composing music on the poetry written by Abdul Kalam.
