Mumbai :In a latest development, BIG 92.7 FM, India’s No. 1 FM Network announced the re-designation of Rabe. T. Iyer as the Business Head for its Allied Businesses. Rabe, who this far headed the Out of Home division of the Company – BIG Street, now has a larger portfolio under his purview which includes the SBU’s of BIG Reach, BIG Live, BIG Digital, BIG Events and the newest entrant – BIG Rural. In his new position, Rabe will be responsible for the growth and P&L of all these businesses. Rabe will be reporting to Tarun Katial, COO, BIG 92.7 FM.
With fifteen years of experience in Media, Advertising and Communication – both in the country and internationally, Rabe began his career in selling space before beginning as a media planner at Enterprise, where a strong foundation on communication planning could be built working on key accounts which was led by stalwarts in the business like. Anand Halve, Raghunath and Rajeev Aggarwal. From here he moved to Saatchi & Saatchi where he worked closely with P&G Hair Care team to launch Head & Shoulders and simultaneously worked on brands like Visa Cards and Novino batteries.
Saatchi & Saatchi’s winning of Hyundai Motors followed closely with the launch of Zenithmedia brand in India with Saatchi & Saatchi, moving him to Delhi to manage Hyundai Motors, Nokia, Dr. Morepen Laboratories. Post a successful stint as Media Director, he accepted a transfer to Vietnam in 2003 to manage the P&G Vietnam account. Within a short span of 2 years Rabe grew to the position of country head for ZenithOptimedia Vietnam and later for Starcom MediaVest Vietnam, was also made a representative of Publicis Groupe Media for Vietnam.
During his stint as a Country Head, PGM Vietnam grew to be the top media house and his team working closely with Procter & Gamble Marcom team also brought home P&G’s Global award for “Best Case Study for Insights” for brand Rejoice. He was also instrumental in bringing in Play with Sesame from Sesame Workshop, New York, making Elmo speak Vietnamese for the first time, besides producing custom TV programming for clients like Mead Johnson. In the final two years of his stint abroad, he built new service lines to cater to Customized TV Programming, Digital solutions (Zed Digital) and brand PR.
Rabe’s expertise lies in building growth through effective trouble shooting and leading through people management, qualities which promise to take these strategic business units of BIG 92.7 FM to a new high.
