Quikr celebrates impatience with ‘Quik India Movement’

Mumbai: Quikr, India’s leading portal in horizontal classifieds in India, initiated the unique ‘Quik India Movement’ campaign in a bid to make India Quikr! Raising a voice against the “chalta hai” attitude of people, Quikr invited followers on Facebook, Twitter and on radio to share their views, opinions and the importance of things being ‘Quikr’.

Quikr took up the cause of the youth who live life on the fast track and don’t necessarily want to have to wait for something to get done. Some very interesting conversations were generated on Twitter through various hashtags created for the Movement – #SlowThingsIhate, #ThingsIWishWereQuikr, and #TheQuikIndiaMovement got Indians tweeting about things–small and big–that should be Quikr! The combined number of impressions all 3 hashtags garnered was over 1.2 million; with each of them trending at #1 spot in India for several hours.

A glimpse of some of the responses the trends received are – ’work at government offices, years at Engineering college, booking Tatkal tickets on IRCTC, parliamentary proceedings, losing weight, bad phases in life, salary appraisals, boring lectures’ and so on… On its Facebook page – Facebook.com/Quikrfans, users uploaded entertaining videos and images of what is ‘Quikest’ according to them.

Quikr also gave people a platform to voice their opinions and organized a tweet-up consisting of prominent influencers on Twitter and various blogs at Mocha Mojo, Bandra on 5th Oct. The event saw 40 attendees who played Quik fun games, discussed topical issues, won Quikr trophies and posted their message on the Quikr Wall. Quikr is also set to launch the games on Facebook.

Aparna Mahesh, Brand Head – Quikr.com, commenting on the initiative said “We launched the Quik India Movement to celebrate the impatience of today’s India. We at Quikr try to get our users’ stuff done quikr, and have always found it great fun to do that. Through this initiative, we want people to realize the benefits and sheer fun of doing things Quikr. The purpose of the Quik India Movement is to give Indians a platform to vent their ire against slow things and share their wishlists for a Quikr India.’
