Private Media Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRVT) a worldwide leader in premium quality adult entertainment content, has announced an agreement with Virginmega France for the supply of content for distribution on the PC platform of Virginmega.fr and its IPTV operator partner.
The deal with Virginmega is a further success for Private’s new media growth as it now distributes to almost 100 percent of the French IPTV market, the most important in the world. Private is partnered with the world’s leading IPTV platform operators, and this deal is part of the Company’s ongoing distribution strategy in Europe, the world’s biggest IPTV market*. Private’s content is currently available in 18 European countries via 35 IPTV providers covering a subscriber base of 7.3 million. Private’s presence in the European IPTV market represents close to 75 percent market coverage.

According to Global IPTV Forecasts made by MRG (Multimedia Research Group, Inc.), the number of global IPTV subscribers is estimated to grow from 13.5 million in 2007 to 92.8 million in 2012, a compound annual growth rate of 47 percent. Europe continues to be the biggest market for IPTV, with France significantly leading the growth projections through its principal telecoms. The number of IPTV subscribers in Europe is forecasted to grow from approximately 6.4 million in 2007 to 36.4 million in 2012, a compound annual growth rate of 42 percent.
