Preetam Shah appointed BIGFlix head of international market

BIGFlix , a part of Reliance BIG Entertainment , has announced that Preetam Shah has been appointed as the Vice President, International Business Development, . Shah will head the international market for the video-on-demand division of the business and will largely be responsible to drive and enhance BIGFlix presence in North America and other international markets.

Speaking on the occasion of this strategic appointment, Kamal Gianchandani, Chief Operating Officer,, said, “We have received excellent response from US and Canadian markets with maximum visitors to our Video-on-Demand business since its very inception. Keeping this in mind we are extremely glad to appoint Dr. Shah to head our international division to drive the international VOD business and enhance our reach in these markets. We are confident that his strong network and rich experience will definitely boost our presence internationally.”

In this role, Dr. Shah will be instrumental in developing strategic business alliances and partnerships to drive the distribution of BIGFlix content through various channels to NRIs and Indian cinema aficionados internationally. Prior to this appointment, he has been a part of Reliance Capital, (a part of Reliance ADAG) as the Vice President of US Venture operations. His current responsibilities at BigFlix will be in addition to his responsibilities at Reliance Capital. Dr. Shah brings with him years of extensive experience in sales & marketing, strategy, business development and finance. In his role at Reliance Capital, he is responsible for identifying strategic investment opportunities that creates value for Reliance ADA Group’s existing business verticals in the healthcare, energy, digital media and entertainment (DM & E), and financial sectors.

Dr. Shah is based in Silicon Valley, CA. He did his postdoctoral work at Stanford University and his MBA in finance and strategy from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
