Planman launches second edition of PowerBrands

Delhi: On the 25th June 2012, The Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon witnessed the dawning in of a new era with the glittering Mega launch of the 2nd edition of PowerBrands, A Planman Marcom initiative. POWERBRANDS is a research-driven Power Book of India’s 100 Most Powerful Brands. It is a first of its kind initiative that acts as a strategic tool in reinforcing the supremacy, legacy, sustainability & credibility of brands.

PowerBrands is a unique initiative exemplifying the icons that have emanated as the Ultimate Benchmark of Achievement & Success. When PowerBrands was conceptualised, the companies nominated were those that had epitomised the tagline of ‘Evolution to Revolution’ where in the brands have gone through the phase of establishing themselves in the complex Indian market scenario and then in their own right revolutionised their segment. The second edition of PowerBrands went a step further and the companies that ‘Innovate to Inspire’, who after revolutionising their segment have taken a pro active approach to innovate and sustain their dominance were nominated. The PowerBrands Hall of Fame ceremony also took place along with the book launch. It was a salute to icons and leaders who have carved a niche for themselves with their remarkable strategies and vision. The awardees included corporates like Mr. Y.C. Deveshwar (Chairman, ITC), Mr. M.B. Parekh (MD, Pidilite), Mr. C.S. Verma (Chairman, SAIL), Mr. Venugopal Dhoot (Chairman, Videocon Group) (on his behalf Mr. Anirudh Dhoot – Director, Videocon collected the award).

Power Brands also saluted some individual excellence through the hall of fame ceremony. These awards were given to people like Ms. Madhuri Dixit Nene, Ms. Sushmita Sen, Ms. Parineeti Chopra, Mr. Prateik, Mr. Vikas Khanna (Masterchef) and Mr. Tom Alter who have done remarkably well and have put India on the global platform. Ms. Himangini Singh Yadu – Miss Asia Pacific World 2012 was also awarded with the PowerBrands Hall of Fame – Inspirational Youth Icon award.
