Pickle Advertising wins Dry Ideas contest 2009

Bhaskar Group has announced results of Dry Ideas Contest 2009. Pickle Advertising ( Creative Director – Rahul Jauhari, Art Director – Sandeep Sastikar) was judged as the winner in Print category while JWT ( Creative Director – Nirmalya chakraborty, Art Director- Rakesh Ranjan) was the winner in Radio Category.

Announcing the results , Sanjeev Kotnala, Vice –President Marcomm, Bhaskar Group said, “ I am thankful to the industry for the encouraging response that we have been getting over the years and what delights me is that it continues to grow. Dainik Bhaskar is committed to the cause of water conservation and would definitely lift to new heights every year.”

Since 2005, the “Dry Ideas contest” has been a part of the “Jal Satyagrah” initiative by The Bhaskar Group. It aims at recognizing best creative solutions in print & radio mediums to promote the celebration of a Dry Holi and in the process conserve water. The winner entries of the contest intend to create awareness about water being a perishable-precious resource and the need of the hour to conserve every drop of it.

Sandeep Sastikar, Group Head – Art, Pickle Advertising, said, “I am really excited today. This was a contest with a purpose and a message for the masses. And that is what made it really challenging for creative people like us. I am happy that the Bhaskar Group took this initiative and I hope that people will truly contribute towards saving water this Holi.”

This year, the contest received phenomenal response and concluded on February 16, 2009 with over 70 agencies participating with 400 plus creative from across the country.

The entries were judged by Prathap Suthan, National Creative Director, Cheil Communications, India, Shivjeet Khullar, Creative Mentor, K Factor Advertising, Prajjal Saha, Associate Editor, Afaqs and G. Sanjay, CMO, Hyundai.

Added, Shivjeet Khullar, Creative Mentor, K Factor Advertising “ This is a good and unique initiative for a different cause which is equally important as any other, I am surprised and delighted with the number of entries and enthusiasm displayed.”

Apart from the Dry Ideas Contest, Bhaskar Group conducts other two contests every year, think Negative which focuses on AIDS Awareness and Kritikar Awards which focuses on encouraging creative talent at the regional level.
