In lieu of World No Tobacco Day, Cancer Patients Aid Association organises the Pink Lips Concert. The concert will be held on May 23, 2010 at Rangsharda at Bandra, in Mumbai. The event is being managed by the Percept Group.
Commenting on the initiative, Anita Peter, Director, Cancer Patients Aid Association said, “Women make up about 20 per cent of the world’s smokers. The Pink Lips Concert will talk about the increase in smoking and other forms of tobacco consumption by women and young girls worldwide. The main focus of this event is to create awareness about the ill-effects of tobacco with special focus on women and tp promote the message – Tobacco Kills.”
The Pink Lips Concert will see performances from singers like Salim-Sulaiman, Shaan, Kunal Ganjawala, Shreya Ghoshal, Aakriti Kakka, Shweta Pandit, Neha Bhasin, Shilpa Rao, Anushka Manchanda and many more.
Promotions for the concert are being done through radio, print media, websites, hoardings, posters and social media. Around 1500 people are expected to attend the concert.
The Pink Lips Concert is supported by WHO and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The event will be held in association with State Bank of India, Mid- Day, New India Assurance, Coco-Cola, Hotel Rangsharda, Taj Land’s End and Indian Oil. Sound and lights for the event will be managed by Dwyne Rogger.
