Percept Activ, the brand activation arm of Percept Group manage the on-ground activities of Canon Photomarathon India in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. The event held on September 26, 2010 is a subset of the extremely acclaimed Canon Photo Marathon Asia 2010.
Percept Activ, which has been handling Canon’s on-ground activities, continued to manage the activity, held last year as well. An estimated 1,000 photography enthusiasts were engaged through the initiative in India. Canon Photo Marathon India is a unique photo competition that encourages participants to create photographic masterpieces in line with assigned themes – under time pressure.
Commenting on the activity, Mr.Sanjay Shukla, COO, Percept Activ said, “The property is already quite popular among photography enthusiasts across the country, and we managed to get around 1,000 Canon camera owners to be a part of the activity this year. These enthusiasts were given a subject to shoot pictures on within a given time frame, and the photographs shortlisted by an eminent jury in each city would be exhibited at the Canon Image Lounge in the respective city.”
Speaking on the activity, Alok Bhardwaj, Senior Vice President, Canon India said, “The competition received tremendous response from photo enthusiasts, with a record number of entries. The zeal, enthusiasm and passion depicted for this photography competition is very encouraging and showcases the inherent yet hidden talent within the country.”

These enthusiasts were assigned a theme on which to shoot pictures within a given time frame, and the photographs shortlisted by an eminent jury in each city would be exhibited at the Canon Image Lounge in that city.”
In its eight year, the annual Asian property brings together photographic talents from India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. This year, two winners from each country will win themselves an 8-day expense-paid photo tickets to the Republic of Turkey .
