Pakistan to set up media varsity with China's help

Islamabad: Pakistan is going to set up a media university in collaboration with China, a minister said.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan Thursday said that a strategy was being evolved to promote healthy journalism and tracking it on modern lines in the country.

Awan told Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) that as part of the strategy, special courses and training programmes for journalists would be initiated which would help in increasing the level of journalism in the country.

The minister said that the proposed media university would be equipped with modern equipment.

Also, steps would be taken for media exchange programmes.
