Ogilvy named Asia's Network of the Year for the third consecutive year

Ogilvy & Mather was named “Network of the Year” at Media magazine’s Agency of the Year awards, held in Singapore recently. This win marks the third year in a row the Network has won the top prize, resulting in the Agency winning this accolade since the awards inception. Over the last ten years, Ogilvy & Mather has been recognized as the leading agency brand in Asia Pacific, by Media magazine, six times (1998, 1999, 2003, 2006, 2007 and 2008) — more than any other agency network.

Commented Tim Isaac, Chairman, Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific: “2008 saw us further cement our position in Asia as a dominant regional player with real breadth of service offer. As well as further investments in digital, activation, direct and public relations, Ogilvy continued to expand its geographical footprint – with moves into Pakistan and Bangladesh. I believe that we are well placed to withstand the challenges of the tough times ahead and to offer our clients a ‘safe haven’ with real pragmatic advice on how to survive the downturn.”

The network went on to collect six other wins and runners-up salutes (out of a total of 11 categories the network was eligible to enter) during the evening, which included: OgilvyOne Asia Pacific being named Digital Agency of the Year and Ogilvy Singapore being named South East Asia Agency of the Year. In the people achievement awards, Miles Young was named Regional Agency Head of the Year and Kunal Jeswani was named Business Development Person of the Year. Nebendu Bhattacharyya and Vikram Menon shared the runners-up mantel for Business Development Person of the Year.

At a local level, Ogilvy & Mather was awarded “Agency of the Year” in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong by local industry bodies.
