Nikon announces Nat Geo Moment Awards III

New Delhi: Nikon has announced ‘Nat Geo Moment Awards III’ powered by Dell XPS. National Geographic Channel’s Moment Awards is famed for providing a platform to showcase the creativity of any individual who can has a creative eye to capture time in the right frame. The national level competition has received overwhelming response in its previous years with over 1 lakh entries from professional as well as amateur photographers.

This year the competition goes bigger with National Geographic Channel giving the winner of the best photograph a dream-come-true opportunity to go on an assignment with Steve Winter. The renowned Nat Geo photographer, who would also be judging the competition, is famous for his photo stories for magazines like National Geographic, Time, Newsweek, Fortune, Natural History, Business Week, Scientific American and Stern. The eye behind the winning photograph will also bag the highly versatile image powerhouse Nikon D300S with AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/2.5-5.6 ED VR II lens that allows photographers to create a reflection previously impossible to capture.

This year, Moment Awards will also be open to the general public for voting. Choose your favorite entry from the pictures uploaded and the photograph with the highest votes will win a Nikon COOLPIX S1100pj every week. National Geographic Channel will also give photography lovers the chance to enjoy these beautiful images at a grand exhibition at a popular hot-spot in Delhi & Mumbai.

Interested participants, above the age of 18 years, can submit their entries from May 12, 2011 onwards, through a special Moment Awards application on Facebook in five categories namely Green, Culture, People, Landscape and Wild. Also get cool photography tips from Steve Winter himself, browse through hundreds of uploaded photographs from previous seasons of Moment Awards and win other cool merchandise.

The series will depict the story of the most iconic photos taken during our times and give insight on them through conversations with the photographers.
