The 34th Annual One Show announced the winners of the Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils at the Frederick P Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center on the evening of May 6th. India, which had 12 entries in the Finalists list, managed just one Pencil.
DDB Mudra Mumbai’s entry titled ‘Bush’ for the Islamic Research Foundation bagged a Bronze Pencil in the Public Service (Radio – Single) category.
One of the evening’s highlights was the presentation of the first-ever Green Pencil Award honouring excellence in the field of environmentally conscious advertising, which was presented by well-known hip hop artiste and Hollywood actor Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges to Goodby, Silverstein & Partners/San Francisco for the Haagen-Dazs Honey Bees integrated branding campaign.
Top honours for ‘Best of Show’ went to CumminsNitro/Brisbane for Queensland Tourism ‘Best Job in the World’ integrated branding campaign. The campaign featured a contest where the winner receives A$150,000 and a six-month ‘job’ as an island caretaker overlooking the Great Barrier Reef. Incidentally, a Briton Ben Southall has won the coveted job.
