Vietnam pay-TV rising

Thu, 18 Mar 2010 18:10:00

Hong Kong: With Vietnam’s industry enjoying growth of almost 400% from 2006 to 2009, the Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) today announced its Vietnam Pay-TV Industry Seminar at the Hilton Hanoi Opera Hotel on Wednesday 28th April.

Themed “Pay-TV on the Rise”, the one-day programme will gather both domestic and international broadcasters, platforms, telcos, technology and service providers, as well as government officials to examine the business models and challenges for this burgeoning Vietnamese sector.

The event will feature panel sessions on topics such as the “Winning factors for pay-TV”; “The power of intellectual property”; “Prospects for satellite, DTH, HD and IPTV”; “Content production partnerships” and “Technology innovations for subscription TV”.

With Vietnam’s platforms delivering new content to target audiences, major industry players are expecting to see exponential growth for cable, satellite broadcasting, digital terrestrial, IPTV and mobile TV services.

“CASBAA is eager to promote Vietnam’s pay-TV sector. It is one of the most exciting developing markets in the Asia Pacific with huge business potential. We should not miss these opportunities,” said Simon Twiston Davies, CEO of CASBAA.
