FT to host digital media and broadcasting conference

Thu, 26 Feb 2009 23:49:00

The Financial Times will host the Digital Media and Broadcasting Conference on 9 and 10 March 2009. Richard Waters the FT’s West Coast Managing Editor will chair the conference taking place at The Millennium Mayfair Hotel, London.

The conference will focus on a host of issues fundamental to the digital media industry, including new digital platforms, television in the digital age and how to make money as traditional advertising and subscription businesses face upheaval. With innovators and business leaders from some of the world’s most influential media companies in attendance, the conference features a high calibre list of speakers from a range of key industry organizations.

Richard Waters, West Coast Managing Editor of the Financial Times, said: “This year’s Digital Media and Broadcasting Conference is taking place at a critical time, with digital now at the heart of every media business model. The time for experimentation is over: consumers have voted with their feet and now expect to choose for themselves how and when they are entertained or informed. The companies that fail to grasp that are already falling by the wayside.”
