Ambika Soni is India's new Information & Broadcasting Minister

Ambika Soni has been announced as India's new Information & Broadcasting Minister . Mohan Jatua and Dr S Jagathrakshakan have been named as Ministers of State in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
 
Born in November 13, 1943 , Ambika Soni is  a member of the upper house of India’s Parliament from Punjab .She made her political debut in 1975 when she was elected president of the Indian Youth Congress. She was elected to the Rajya Sabha in March 1976 and in 1988, she became the president of All India Mahila Congress. He was able to make a mark in both the posts.

Ambika Soni became the 'face of India' during her tenure as tourism minister during the last Lok Sabha and ensured in popularising the Incredible India campaign. The Visit India campaign launched in April when recession was beginning to cast its dark cloud on the tourism sector was one of her brainchild.

A close confident of the Gandhi family, Soni has been at the helm of several parliamentary committees. She is a familiar guest in TV studios as a spokesperson of the Congress.
