Mumbai: Teesri Manzil, a 1966 Bollywood film, still remains one of the most successful commercial films in Hindi Cinema. An effective plot, energetic performances, an excellent musical score, great chemistry between the lead pair and above all the brilliant direction made the film a blockbuster. The ‘musical thriller’ was revisited on Saturday night when Radio Mirchi screened 'Teesri Manzil' for Mirchi fans as the Purani Jeans Film Festival drew to an end.

Popular RJ Anmol was joined by superstar Aamir Khan, the charismatic Shammi Kapoor, graceful Asha Parekh and the golden voiced Asha Bhosle at the screening. Purani Jeans fans were elated to be a part of the grand screening and to get the chance of experiencing the magical feast that is 'Teesri Manzil'. Their joy knew no bounds when Aamir Khan came to the screening, with his family, to watch the movie! An appreciative Aamir complimented Mirchi’s initiative saying, “It’s a great opportunity for youngsters to watch blockbusters like Teesri Manzil on the big screen. We are fortunate to have the blessings of such talented people, great artistes, directors, writers and composers of the golden era of the film industry.”

It was indeed a magical and cherished moment for everyone present when the legendary trio recounted their experiences and fond moments from this landmark film. RJ Anmol also managed to convince Ashaji to sing a few lines of O Mere Sona Re, Sona Re… to a packed house.

Shammiji, the eternal hero who had stolen many hearts with his indescribable charm, said "Teesri Manzil is a defining movie of its genre. With its soundtrack, the performances, the movie is very special to my heart."

As part of the Purani Jeans film festival, Mirchi had screened four classic films over four Saturdays - Guide, An Evening in Paris, Kabhi Kabhie and Teesri Manzil. The selections of the films were made by none other than Mirchi listeners. Earlier, RJ Anmol had asked listeners to send in their requests for which film they would like to see as part of the film festival.
