Mumbai : South Indian superstar Siddharth took Bollywood by storm after playing a rich, confused youth in the hugely successful and coming of age film Rang De Basanti.

On the eve of the release of his latest film Striker, Sidharth visited Mumbai’s No. 1 radio station, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM. He was heard on the evening show ‘Sunset Samosa’ with RJ Suren. Mirchi ran a contest where the winners got a chance to compete with Siddharth in a game of carrom. Playing like a professional, Sidey as he is fondly called by friends, shared his experience of preparing for the role. He spoke about the rigorous practice sessions that he underwent to perfect his strokes.

Set in a ghetto in Mumbai in the mid '80's, Striker is a story of Surya, a Carrom player from Bombay, who lives on the fringe of a criminal existence, but who does not succumb to it. It’s a story of a man's passion for a game that gave him strength to triumph over all those who took the easier path.

The soundtrack of Striker consists of 8 songs composed by various artists such as Vishal Bhardwaj, noted Tamil composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, Amit Trivedi, rapper Blaaze, Shailendra Barve and lyricist-singer Swanand Kirkire. Lyrics are penned by Nitin Raikwar, Blaaze, Prashant Ingole, Jeetendra Joshi, Swanand Kirkire and Gulzar. Siddharth himself has lent his voice for two songs in the film. While on air, Sidharth regaled listeners by singing a track, Haq Se, from the film.
