Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Monday extended deadline to receive comments on proposed policy guidelines for television audience measurement or Television Rating Points (TRP) .
'The Authority has received requests from some stakeholders for extension of time for sending comments. The Authority has considered the requests of the stakeholders and decided to extend the date for submission of written comments on the same by two weeks. Accordingly, all stakeholders are requested to send their comments by 5th May, 2008,'Sadhana Dikshit,Pr.Advisor (FA & IFA).Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) said.
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had released consultation paper on “Policy Guidelines for Television Audience
Measurement/ Television Rating Points (TRP)” on 28th March, 2008. Written comments of stakeholders on this consultation paper were invited by 21st April,2008.
TRPs in India are measured by private agencies which is not acceptable to the government . Government of India is keen to draft its own TRP policy .
