News International Announces New Leadership Structure

News International Ltd has announced new leadership structure in its management team.Clive Milner is appointed Chief Operating Officer with accountability for all operations including, Manufacturing, Technology, Distribution, Procurement and Facilities at News International Ltd. The way content is delivered through newspapers, websites and products will be brought under Clive’s control.

Paul Hayes is appointed Managing Director, Commercial, leading a combined advertising operation across News International. Mike Anderson will become Managing Director, Digital and Development and will assume responsibility for all digital functions across News International including Globrix, BrandAlley and Milkround. Mike’s area will also comprise Enterprise operations. A chief marketing officer for News International Ltd will also be appointed in due course.

James Murdoch, Chairman and Chief Executive, Europe and Asia, News Corporation, said: “These appointments will streamline and strengthen our management team and will bring us closer to our readers and advertisers, creating greater benefits for both. The new management structure is an essential first step in delivering the changes required to further develop our market leading titles and set the pace for the industry.”

Clive Milner was appointed Group Managing Director, Newspaper Division, News International Limited in January 2004. He had been Managing Director of Times Newspapers Limited since December 2001 and, prior to that, Managing Director of News Group Newspapers since August 1999. Milner joined Times Newspapers in 1981.

Paul Hayes was appointed managing director, Times Newspapers Ltd, in July 2005.
Hayes rejoined News International in 2000 as general manager, Times Newspapers Ltd, having spent 11 years at The Telegraph fulfilling a number of roles. Between 1984-1989, Hayes was a member of the TNL Advertising Department.

Mike Anderson joined News International in December 2005 as Managing Director, News Group Newspapers. Anderson was previously at Associated Newspapers where he was Managing Director of The Evening Standard and prior to that, Managing Director of Metro.

News International Limited is the main UK subsidiary of the global media company News Corporation. Times Newspapers Ltd (TNL) publishes The Times and The Sunday Times and News Group Newspapers Limited (NGN) publishes The Sun and News of the World. TNL and NGN are part of the News International group.

Other subsidiaries which form part of the News International group include NI Free Newspapers Ltd, publisher of thelondonpaper, the Times Literary Supplement and In addition, the News International group owns 50% of both The London Property News and, and has investments in property search engine and fashion website
