New Delhi: Anisha Singh, Founder and CEO of mydala.com has been conferred the prestigious ‘Leading Woman in Retail’ Award at the 3rd Edition Women Leaders in India held in Mumbai recently.
The event was organized by the India chapter of London-based iiGlobal Business Information, which provides business executives around the world with tailored practical conferences, large scale events, topical seminars and in-house training programs, keeping them up-to-date with industry trends, technological developments and the regulatory landscape.
Sharing her delight on winning the coveted award, Anisha said, “I thank the organizers of the annual ‘Women Leaders in India’ event for honouring me with this ‘Leading Woman in Retail’ award. At mydala.com, our focus has always been innovation and each day we try to source better and better deals for our customers, to generate immense value for our merchant partners and customers. I owe this success to the millions of mydala customers who have constantly supported me and my team.” Encouraging more women to come forward in pursuing their career choices, she added, “Women bring a special brand of leadership in various organisations and now that the business environment in India has changed over the years, more women should start venturing out of their homes to be a part of this changing environment.”
Says Steven Andrew, Head – Conference and Summit, ii Global Business Information Private Limited, “Each year, the Women Leaders in India event keeps growing bigger and bigger, signifying the increasing success that Indian women are achieving in business, even as a large section still needs to come into the mainfold. But with the growing size of our event, it becomes very difficult to choose one award winner in this cut-throat competition. Anisha’s pioneering vision of the potential of group-buying way back in 2009 to successfully convince merchants on the business case for yielding huge discounts and convincing customers on the safety of online transactions, is commendable, given that back then, it was still a concept no retailer in India had known too well. Under Anisha’s leadership, mydala launched several technology innovations in the field of retail including India’s first group-buying BlackBerry app and WAP site, as well as India’s first deal directory, mydala Deal Hunter, making our choice clear for the most enterprising Leading Woman in Retail in India for this year.”
The glittering Award ceremony was also attended by actress Sameera Reddy and Director Nagesh Kukunoor who made it more exciting and memorable, along with Namrata Sharma, co-founder and CEO, Krayon Pictures, and Alpna J Doshi, CIO, Reliance Group among the prominent speakers at the event.
Recently, mydala.com was also chosen by leading Bollywood movies including Don 2 and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, for their launch promotions by leveraging the power of group buying and social media marketing, which received tremendous response from customers.
