Panaji is getting ready to play host to the 38th International Film Festival. Infrastructure is being spruced up at multiple venues. A new media centre with state-of-the –art communication facilities is coming up at the Food and Drug Administration building on Dayanand Bandodkar Marg. Deputy Director General of Press Information Bureau, New Delhi, Ms Esther Kar and Director of PIB, Mumbai, Manish Desai reviewed the press facilities along with Shri Narinder Singh, Joint Director and Shri Suryakant Jog, Media Officer of PIB, Panaji. The Media Centre and other facilities are likely to be ready for use by 10th November, 2007.
Media registration has begun for the 38th International Film Festival of India – IFFI 2007, to be held in Goa from 23rd November to 3rd December, 2007. This time all media accreditations will be carried out online. The online media registration form, along with terms and conditions can be accessed by logging on to Press Information Bureau website at www.pib.nic.in under sub-head ‘Media Accreditation’.
Accreditation is granted to experienced journalists / media persons, who have been covering film festivals for at least three years. Normally one accreditation is given for one media organization. However, for the main news agencies, upto four accreditations can be granted. For TV news channels, accreditation will be given for upto three teams comprising a reporter, a cameraperson and a technician. Eminent persons with ten years experience of film journalism will be accredited under the ‘freelance’ category. The last date for media registration is 15th November, 2007.
