Martin Duke appointed OM Advertising’s MD in Indonesia

Jakarta : Ogilvy & Mather today announced the appointment of Martin Duke to the role of Managing Director in Indonesia, effective February 1, 2011. Previously Duke was Business Director at SANTO in London where he managed the Vodafone and Nestle business.

Commenting on the appointment Renuka Jaypal Ogilvy Indonesia’s Group CEO said; “With our continuous growth within the Indonesian market combined with a prediction in increase of ad spend for 2011, we feel now is the perfect time to invest in the future of our advertising unit and senior management of Ogilvy Indonesia. Martin brings to the table a unique blend of passion for creative, strategic content and good people skills. He’ll fit right into the Jakarta senior management team.”

Reporting to Renuka, Martin assumes the day-to-day responsibilities of the advertising unit, which handles some of Indonesia’s, and the world’s, leading companies including brands fromUnilever, Nestle, Konimex, Coke, to name a few.

Indonesia has been flagged as one of the key markets that will contribute to the overall global increase in advertising spend in 2011, with an expected USD 1 billion-plus in spending growth, while China and the US are expected to contribute at least USD 5 billion.
