MagicBricks India Housing Report 2011 released at AsiaConstruct 2011

Urban Development Minister, Govt. of India Kamal Nath released the MagicBricks India Housing Report 2011 and launched the PropIndex Jul-Sep 2011 at the AsiaConstruct 2011 being held in the Capital, New Delhi today

The India Housing Report is a snapshot of residential real estate across 12 Indian cities and contains key macro factors and trends in the housing industry. These findings include city-wise supply analyses, locality, type of housing & other details and are based on data, surveys and compiled consumer insights.

The PropIndex report by MagicBricks is the National Apartment Index, which tracks property market performance across top 11 cities in the country covering over 260 localities. In this second edition, the index showed a healthy 4% rise in the Jul-Sep quarter compared to Apr-Jun quarter, 2011.

At the conference, Sudhir Pai, Business Head,, highlighted the “Impact of Real Estate Portals on the Property Markets”. He used statistics derived from to corroborate market trends.

E Jayashree Kurup, Head – Content & Research, TBSL provided an insight on “Technology in the Indian Housing Industry – Reality and Challenges.” This covered consumer and developer perspectives on technology as an enabler for real estate.

AsiaConstruct 2011 is organised by CIDC (Construction Industry Development Council) in Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The three-day Event is witnessing participation from across Asia and Africa, providing a forum for exchanging information on problem areas and solutions in construction industry across the region.

The Planning Commission, Government of India, jointly with the Indian construction industry has set up Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) to take up activities for the development of the Indian construction industry.
