Launches Holiday Ads on NBC and YouTube

Internet retailer launched a series of hard hitting holiday advertisements today on NBC, featuring Wanda and Bill Goldberg. The ads are a part of’s holiday promotions, which invite consumers to take advantage of the e-tailer’s magazine subscriptions discounted up to 90%, gift cards and gift subscriptions.

Wanda Goldberg, television host and former stunt woman, stars in the ad with a special appearance from her husband Bill Goldberg, former World Championship Heavyweight Champion. Wanda Goldberg is known for her role as host of “Doctors Foster and Smith’s Faithful Friends,” a 30-minute television show on Animal Planet. “Faithful Friends” focuses on educating pet owners on the health, nutrition and overall well-being of their pets. “It’s fun having the opportunity to work with my husband on set, especially when it’s a product that I truly enjoy,” stated Wanda Goldberg, host of the commercials. She adds, “With over 1,900 magazine choices, both Bill and I can purchase any magazine we desire and our subscriptions are so easy to manage online. And, of course, magazines make great gifts, a gift that keeps on giving all year long!”

In the commercial Bill rolls up on a custom Jesse James West Coast Harley Davidson customized to his liking, and asks Wanda “Honey, does have Robb Report Motorcycling?” Wanda’s reply is a resounding “Yes, and they have Time, Muscle and Fitness, Sports Illustrated … !” Bill Goldberg, now a television and feature film star, is best known for his World Championship Wrestling career from 1997-2001 and his starring roles in films The Longest Yard, Santa’s Slay, Looney Tunes: Back In Action, Ready to Rumble and Universal Soldier II & Bill is the voice of Froggy in “Faithful Friends.”

Goldberg, who remains one of the most popular wrestling figures in the sport’s history, was named one of the 100 most powerful people in the sports industry by The Sporting News and has appeared on magazine covers from Entertainment Weekly to TV Guide, and has been featured in People, Spin, Rolling Stone, Gear and USA Today. “We felt that Bill and Wanda embody the typical psychographic profile of the magazine reader; a youthful, approachable and active couple. A couple that has assorted interests such as likes to save money and enjoys the convenience of home delivery of their favorite magazines,” stated Tony Loiacono, the commercials producer.
