Kaushik Ghosh, national sales head, Radio Mirchi, has quit Entertainment Network India Ltd (ENIL. He has joined Star India as vice-president, ad sales. He will head the sales function for Star ’s regional channels such as STAR Pravah and STAR Jalsa. He joined Star early this month.
On his move to television, Ghish says, “Having been in the radio industry for 8 years, television seemed like the obvious progression. I had to move to a bigger sector within media and that was television. Within television, I was fortunate to get the opportunity to work in the regional space which is the growth sector.”
Prior to this move, Ghosh was national sales head at Entertainment Network India Ltd (ENIL). He worked with ENIL for eight years in various capacities including national marketing head and national head, business development and corporate strategy. “I was the third employee there when Radio Mirchi was being established,” Ghosh informs.
On his changing roles at ENIL, Ghosh says, “Moving from marketing to sales within Mirchi was also fruitful because I knew the medium from both the brand and client perspective. Because at that time, one had to first sell the medium and then the brand”.
Ghosh is a BTech from IIT, Kharagpur and an MBA from IIM Kolkata. He started his career with HCL Frontline and also worked with Asian Paints for four years in the sales and operations functions.
